About the Murray website

cutie.jpg

When I first decided to create this website, I thought it would just be for my branch of the family and my own close relatives; a place to read about news and gossip and a bit of family information, I didn't really expect many people to take any notice. Then, I decided to find some information on the family's history and I found that it is really fascinating. I searched through the books in the library and trawled the vast expanse of the internet! and found tonnes and tonnes of fascinating material. So, I pinched all the information from all of these webistes, added a bit of my own, found pictures and archives and started to put together a bit of a scrapbook of information.

Then, I e-mailed some of the people who had created their own Websites and told them about mine, some of them added links to their sites and said that they really liked mine. I added my webiste to the major search engines (It is on the second page of results on Google (The biggest search engine on the net) if you search for "Murray Clan" at the moment, it goes up all the time!). I started to get e-mails from people all over the world; America, Austraila, and the hit counter was going mad! I got e-mails from people asking about the family history and wanting to know more, so I had to find more information, then more and more and that is where I am now. Hopefully, I have created a site that is interesting, usefull and fun. let me know what you think.

Where does the information come from?

Most of the information on the site is from the internet. I searched through the various archives that are available, Looked through dozens of other Murray websites and pooled all the information together and looked through history books in my college library and local library. Also, I used information that had been passed down from my Grandparents. My Grandmother particually, has helped me a great deal.
